Oven Cloth Parade

I took the last days to play around with my software and created some  quilt patterns.

Just for fun.

It is amazing what you can do with a few fill stitches and  the feathering of stitches.

The motif is looking brilliant. I made it by embroidering onto a sandwich of under fabric, batting and top fabric. Now they are looking like genuine Trapunto.

In this technique you are usually cutting from the back into the ready quilted fabric. Then you cush the „pockets“ it with polyfill. Finally you close the opening by hand sewing.

Sounds complicated, and sure is in practise.

But I will never find out since my way is the better one: using software and embroidery machine. 😉

Putting together the „mini quilts“ I sewed a oven cloth.

Then bordered it with bias tape, using a triple-zigzag stitch. I left around 12cm at the end and seamed it as well. Finally made a hanger and fixed this with a knob.

Thus hiding the beginning of seam.

It is hard to see on the photograph: the heart is at least 1cm raised above the rest. This is looking pretty cool.

And what shall I do with all these oven cloth’s?

Und was tue ich jetzt mit all den Topflappen?

There will be more, since this mini-quilt practise is really easy to do 😉

……………………………..

And then I created this …

But you should wait til tomorrow …
