The ancient patchwork pattern „Dresden plate“ traditionally is made by hand. It requires some expert knowledge. Many little petals are applied in circle around an inner circle. This results in a colorful and bloomy motif.
Maybe you remember, in this post I already presented you my hand-made Dresden plate.
And as you know me, I am always trying to adopt patterns and motifs, that are made the „traditional way“ for my embroidery machine.
I love such challenges and am always astouned what can be made on the embroidery machine.
So it is no surprise that I created my own embroidery file for a Dresden plate.
This is the sketch I made, immediately before leaving for a skiing trip.
No matter how short the time is. What needs to be done …
BTW, my sketches are looking so terrible. But for me it is ok since in the digitizing software I am doing it nice!
Look, the scrawl changed into an embroidery file and then into a pillow.
The pillow consists of some single blocks that are embroidered on the quick.
The „biggest challenge“ is to sew all the parts together.
This is no witch craft and with help of my detailed instructions with lots of pictures you can manage this as well
I’m sure also beginners will be successful.
And when you don’t have the time at the moment or just want to try it out first you can make a placemat. So your table is covered easily.
And when you only have a few minutes, just do a pot holder.
Or a calendar cover, a spelt bag.
When you look at the Design samples of my testers you will be inspired much more.
Now it is time to thank Anja Küthe of Stoffekontor. She supported me by providing all the sweet fabrics.
As you guess right the new file will be available from tomorrow on in the Stickbaer shop
Of course with detailed instruction in English and German.
Are you now delighted to embroider and sew the Dresden plate?
When you are done please send me your results. I will publish them in our Customer Gallery.
I wish you a nice weekend.
Liebe Grüße
Eure
