Der Stickbär has 10th Birthday

Already some time I did machine embroidery and created my own designs and digitized them. So my family and I decided to make a profession our of the hobby. The name Stickbaer, what means embroidery bear, came from my husband, who is my bear.

And since we, as a family are doing all things together we decided to run a family business in a little shop.

I am doing the creative part. I am creating the embroidery files by myself, most of the underlying sketches are done by me. All motifs will be embroidered. All photographs are shot by me.

The other, administrative part is done by my husband: the platform, functionality, the Big picture!

Tatjana is embroidering, Bär is doing care = Stickbär.

And so the Stickbaer was founded on April 7th 2007.

Now it was official and we started to sell my creations. I was happy about each single order.

And we added and added new collections. Not only applique, cross stitch and embroidery, we also started to In-The-Hoop projects and are happy to bring new techniques to our community.

Today we offer not less then 600 different collections, most of them in variations to you.

I want to thank you, dear readers and friends. I met so many lovely people, I am receiving so many friendly mails and comments that I cannot count.

To thank you all we have here the Stickbaer as Easter egg Bear.

The embroidery file for the 10x10cm hoop is done as applique. You can download it in various formats here:

Follow the steps below to embroider your bear:

Hoop the fabric very taut together with the stabilizer. Make sure that the hooped fabric does not have any wrinkles or is hooped loosely.

First we will embroider the baer, then the egg applique.

The machine will embroider a placement shape for the fabric placement of the applique.

Place the fabric over the outline and let the machine sew it onto the background fabric.

Remove the frame from the machine but not the project from the frame and trim the applique fabric back close to the stitches.

First, the machine will fixate the fabrics again with a zig- zag stitch and then with the satin stitch.

At the very end, the machine will embroider the last details of the design.

That’s it, your bear is done.

Enjoy your new motive.

Liebe Grüße

The 2nd Freebie and some more bags

We are happy that you liked our 1. Christmas freebie so much.

So today we have another present for you.

The cute fawn and the christmas bunny are right for the 10x10cm hoop.

Aren’t they cute both?

Directly here you can download them in many mebroidery formats with the color change overview:

We hope you like them as much as you liked the gingerbread man last week.

Of course we wont miss to present our new embroidery file. You liked the Christmas Bags last week. From design, they are more for the adults, with a little embroidery on them, and so.

Today, we present you colorful “Winter-Wonder-Bags”, that are made right for our children.

No matter what is in the bag! The bag is the star 😉

And to have bags big enough we made them not only for the 13x18cm hoop, but also for the 16x26cm hoop.

Here you can see the difference:

We decided for 4 different motives:

The Christmas elf, the cute deer with the red nose, the Santa and the bobby hat are filling the lower part of the bag. So after filling and closing the bag they show their full beauty.

Of course one may use them for decoration.

Just fill some wadding and close them, and you have “deco bags”.Stickbaer-Winter-Wunder-Tueten-Tati-2What about to use them for the advent calendar. Next year , only, I must confess.Stickbaer-Winter-Wunder-Tueten-Tati-4 Stickbaer-Winter-Wunder-Tueten-Tati-6You can embellish the bags a lot. Our 3rd Advent Freebie

This friday when opening the window on our Advent Calendar you found our 3rd Freebie for you.

And since it is quite easy to make there is still time to embroidery some of the bells right before christmas.

Our little felt bell is a pefect embellishment for any christmas present.

See here how easy it is to embroider it.

First, of course you need the embroidery file.

Here you get the download link:

Load the unzipped file to your embroidery machine.

First embroider color 1. It marks the place where you…

…put in step 2 the felt. Let it overlap say 0.5cm.

The next color does the edge again and fixates the felt on the backing.

So no need for spray-on glue.

Now we are adding the edges and the snow flake in the center. Maybe you want to use metallic thread, but also with Rayon thread it looks good.

Now the machine stopps for the last step.

Remove the hoop from the machine (but not the project from the hoop) and turn it.

Cut a 15cm ribbon, do a loop and attach it with a tape at the top of the bell.

Now take another piece of felt, overlapping the bell and fixate it.

Turn back the hoop and mount it back to the machine. Take care for the ribbon loop not get stuck and the felt on the back not to be shifted.

The last embroidery step now combines both felt layers and the ribbon loop.

Front side:

Back side:

No remove everything from the hoop, remove tapes and cut out the bell with 2mm allowance.

I used a waved rotary cutter for the lower end.

A little bell and a bow adds much to your project.

Now it is time to attach your bell to the present.

As you see I was hard-working so I had my gifts prepared already begin of december.

Some green.

Take the chance to give your Christmas presents a Plus!

Enjoy our 3rd Advent Freebie. We wish you a nice 4th Advent weekend.

Our second Advent Freebie

This day’s calendar window gets you to a very special embroidery file. did you recognize who is it? It is our Stickbaer (you remember: Stickbaer means Teddy bear who’s doing embroidery).

The teddy bear is hiding behind the Christmas tree and smiling for you. He has St. Nics pointy cap.

This file is absolutely for free to download.

Only the tree is applied. all other is embroidered. Do you remember our  applique tutorial?

For this embroidery file you need the 13x18cm hoop, sorry you 10x10cm guys.

The ZIP download contains at all 6 different formats.

Here you can Download our Advent Freebie No. 2:

Stickbaer Freebie Christmas Teddy Bear

This year we are wrapping our presents in gift bags. They can be used after christmas for other purpose.

Little bells give the typical sound …

They is a lot of space in the bag …

And the little heart from the Bag Taggies series is another highlight.

We wish you a lot of fun with our window 12! Enjoy embroidering.

Maybe you have some snow this weekend.

Liebe Vorweihnachtsgrüße

Our first Advent Freebie

Those of you that are members of the Stickbaer family for a longer time already know that every year in December we have some presents for you.

Of course our  Stickbaer-Advent Calendar is the biggest gift we are making. Every day til Christmas you find here current embroidery files for less money.

But we also have some Freebies for you, together with detailled tutorial each.

So every Friday now you can find a new Freebie in the Stickbaer Blog for download.

Today’s freebie is for all mums, grannies, bigger sisters of long-hair girls. We put together a tutorial, including the embroidery files, how to embroider a Poinsettia Hair clip Cover.

It is easy to do. You can do many, maybe for the Kindergarden friends?

Download the files here:

Stickbaer-Christmasfreebie-Hairclip Cover

In the Zip file you find in one folder with the embroidery files for the base, the pointsettia leaves and the poinsettia petals. Means 3 files, each in ART, exp, pes, dst, vp3, hus and jef formats.

They are made for the 10x10cm hoop. In one run you can do 2 covers.

And you need:

  • hair clips of appr. 5cm
  • wool felt 1mm in red, green and another colour
  • pearls, bells or small buttons for the inside of the flower

Let’s go:

First we do the clip cover.

Use tear away fleece and embroider first color.

Place some felt.

Color 2 embroiders the edge of the clip covers.

Remove  the hoop from the machine, NOT the fleece from the hoop.

Turn the hoop.

Place another piece of felt onto the backside overlapping the already done work.

Fixate it with 2-3 stripes tape.

Turn it again, front will be upside again, mount the hoop back to machine.

The last color embroiders now with a thicker stich thus sewing together front and back sides.

Now you can remove all from machine. Tear away the fleece and cut off the the covers with 1mm allowance.

Now, carefully, do not cut the seam, cut an opening from one side to the other.

Look at the image how to pace the clip.

Use a curved sissors to hide the end of the clip.

You may want to close the opening with some stitches.

That’s so far for the cover, let’s proceed with the green leaves.

Take another fleece and clamp it to the hoop and embroider color 1.

Place felt and embroider color 2.

Chose a matching thread color.

The red petals are made the same way.

Now you can cut all leaves with 1mm allowance. 2 red flowers are bigger then the others, they are the the bottom layer.

Stack your pieces a little bit rotated: green, bigger red, smaller red, fixate with a few stitches and add some embellishment, like bell or knob.

Or you use yellow pearls, or dots embroidered with thick wool.

The final step is to glue the flowers onto the clip…

You are done. Easy, ha?

Can you hear the bell?

You can use other felt colors to create daffs, daisies or marguerites.

Enjoy our tutorial and of course the 2nd Advent sunday.

Liebe Grüße

Euer Stickbär und Eure
