Do you know those little YoYo’s, that can be used for everything?
Be it for hair gums, sew it on bags, as flowers on wall hangers …
Maybe for this:
Such YoYo’s are easy to make.
A circle of fabric will be turned back and sewed, finally tightened.
It is easy when you follow this: the edge should be only 3-4mm and it needs to be turned accurately. This turned out to be a problem for me. And it looked not so good.
If there were not all the gadgets to make our lifes easier.
YoYo Maker of Clover is available in different sizes, not only for circles, also for hearts, flowers and others.
To save shipping 😉 I ordered not only one at Quiltmaus.
Since I had no idea how to do this, and I know this could be interesting for you as well, here is my report.
……………………………
There are 2 pieces to be put together.
Tension the fabric and plug one circle into the other.
Front view.
Cut the edge about 5mm.
There are little holes around the slice where you have sew the thread through. Up and down, up and down…
When you have finished one round remove the inner slice.
Now tighten the thread and sew 2-3 stitches.
Although you can sew the YoYo on by hand I will show you how to do this with the machine.
Insert a transparent thread.
Set Blind stitch, length 1mm width 1.5mm
Use an applique foot like the BERNINA Foot 20.
Put the stitch so that the right stitch is on the edge of the foot.
Do one round with the needle passing the YoYo on the right, the left stitches are on the YoYo fabric.
Done…
